India T20 World Cup 2024 squad: The Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024 has been announced. The command of the team has been handed over to Rohit Sharma. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the team after intensive brainstorming in Ahmedabad. The national selection committee headed by chief selector Ajit Agarkar discussed with many players. Ultimately 15 players were selected. The T20 World Cup is starting on June 1 in America and West Indies. India will start its campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York. Hardik Pandya has been given big responsibility in the team. He will be the vice-captain of the team in the T20 World Cup. Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson have been given places as wicketkeepers in the team. KL Rahul has not got a chance in the team. Shubhman Gill and Rinku Singh have been included as reserves.

Batsmen (Total 5):
Along with captain Rohit Sharma, former captain Virat Kohli and number T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav will be an important part of the batting unit. Shivam Dubey and Yashasvi Jaiswal have also got a chance. Yashasvi is likely to open, while Shivam Dubey will be seen in the role of finisher.
Wicketkeeper (Total 2):
Talking about wicketkeeper batsmen, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson have got a place in the team. Pant has returned to professional cricket through IPL 2024. Pant has shown signs of being in form by playing some explosive innings. Pant’s performance behind the wicket has also been excellent. Sanju Samson has got the place as the second wicketkeeper.
All-rounders (Total 3):
Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja have got the place. Hardik will also play the role of vice-captain in the T20 World Cup. Let us tell you that Hardik is captaining Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2024. Spin bowling all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel have also been rewarded for their good performances.
Spinners (Total 2):
Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been included in the World Cup squad as specialist spin bowlers. Leg spinner Chahal is the highest wicket-taker for India in T20 cricket and he is performing brilliantly in the IPL as well. Since the T20 World Cup is to be held in the West Indies and America, the role of Kuldeep and Chahal can be very important on slow pitches. Fast Bowlers (3): Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh will play important roles in the fast bowling unit. Whereas Mohammad Siraj has also been included as the third specialist fast bowler. Siraj has proved expensive in the current IPL season. However, his performance at the international level has been outstanding.

On June 9, a highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan will take place at Long Island’s freshly opened Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. The 29-day event promises a thrilling cricket spectacle.
A total of 41 matches will take place in the Caribbean, over six different islands. The semi-finals will be held in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana, with the final scheduled for Barbados on June 29, marking the end of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The tournament will begin on June 1 with co-hosts the United States taking on archrival Canada, while fellow hosts the West Indies face Papua New Guinea in Guyana on the second day of group play.
The competition is organized into four groups, each with five teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, paving the way for the knockout semi-finals and ultimate final.
